THE TRAINING ROBOT AND PATIENT WELL-BEING
An early training effort makes a difference. The loss of muscle mass starts early in the course of a disease involving bedridden periods. If the patients start to train as early as possible – on the first day of admission if possible – they are able to reduce the loss of muscle mass and better maintain their strength and ability to walk.
And there are many other advantages. Shortly after admission the patient usually starts to feel bored. This is a well-known problem. Also, a lack of exercise reduces appetite, and the patient dozes off during the day and cannot sleep at night.
With just a little bit of effort the Atlin® training robot relieves boredom, increases the appetite and helps the patient to return to a normal circadian rhythm.
IMPROVES THE PATIENT’S MOOD AND OVERALL WELL-BEING
In addition, pain management becomes easier to handle and this is an important aspect for many patients with chronic conditions.
It is also well-known that exercise releases endorphins which improve the patient’s mood and overall well-being.
